Platypus reading group, 6/26/10

Everyone,

Just a reminder that we will be finishing up the Manifesto and do
Marx's Address to the Central Committee this Saturday, as well as
pushing forward to cover Engels's introduction to The Class Struggle
in France, available at http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1895/03/06.htm

In addition we will be talking about excerpts from The Class Struggle
in France, selected by Tucker for the Marx-Engels Reader. The Class
Struggle in France is available in full at
http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1850/class-struggles-france/index.htm;
however, a PDF of only the excerpts we will be focusing on in class is
available under the Files tab at our google groups website, or by

Finally, I’ll be bringing to the reading group my external hard drive,
which has the video and audio files from the Moishe Postone class
(minus one make-up class that we have not yet had), so if you would
like to put those on your computer, bring a laptop or drive of your
own. Audio is maybe a few gigs, video and audio together is about 60
gigs. Do keep in mind that as this is unedited and very much
unauthorized by University of Chicago (and Postone himself), only use
these files for your own private use and personal viewing. Some
version of them will end up online and available publicly, eventually,
though this might not be for another year or so and, since I won’t be
doing the editing, I cannot vouch for the quality of the public
version that will later be made available.

Would you be so kind as to bring your harddrive with the Moishe Postone documentation to this Saturday's meeting? I would really like to experience the presentation of that course material, I'll bring my laptop and/or external HD, and since I read your disclaimer I'll reiterate that my interest is solely for private use and personal viewing.
