The Platypus Affiliated Society presents:
Politics, Coffee and the Left
Please join us today for our weekly casual discussion concerning the past, present and
future prospects for emancipatory politics.
A weekly coffee break series offers a space to discuss art, culture, theory and the
politics of the Left.
The Platypus Affiliated Society, established in December 2006, organizes reading
groups, public fora, research and journalism focused on problems and tasks
inherited from the "Old" (1920s-30s), "New" (1960s-70s) and post-political
(1980's-present) Left for the possibility to engage emancipatory politics
today. Their monthly broadsheet journal, the Platypus Review, is available on
campus and welcomes contributions from anyone interested in interrogating and
clarifying positions and orientations currently represented on the Left.
