Dear Luke,

Last year, Education Pioneers sent 5 Alumni to Seattle to work on high priority projects for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This partnership was such a success that this year we will send 5-10 Pioneers to work in summer roles across the Gates Foundation’s College Ready Education team. Are you interested?

In the coming months, Education Pioneers will select a group of alumni to interview at the Gates Foundation for summer positions. Those selected by the Foundation will receive $12,000 for ten weeks of full-time work with the Foundation beginning in late May/early June. Some travel from Seattle to partner sites is expected.

To apply, please submit this online application by December 14th, 2012 at 5:00 pm PST. If you have any questions about the application process, please refer to this list of frequently asked questions or reach out to Scout Sanders (scout....@educationpioneers.org).

Thank you!

Hey guys!

I miss you all!  Just wanted to pass along some good news.  On Dec 3, I start at Teach for America as their VP for National Foundations.  And guess which major educational foundation is in the portfolio?

I'm super excited as I haven't done development before, so it'll be a whole new area to explore and learn. My team is absolutely incredible, as are my manager and my coach.  I'll be working out of the national office here in NYC.  Not quite as lovely as our summer digs, but the people are (almost) as wonderful as you.

The elbow lives forever!   (Don't you think Don should bring us back to orient the new crop of Felllows?)

Susan

Thanks, Luke!  It all worked out really well, so am feeling extraordinarily lucky -- and very happy.

I think you'd said something about the PUKE team coming east over the holidays?  If so, I hope to see you!!

Susan
