I saw Max today!  And we tried out TFA's slick new coffee machine.  Not as wonderful as those at Gates, of course. 
 Miss you all -- would love to send you a holiday card.  Could you send your mailing addresses?

You guys probably already had that committed to memory from the summer BBQ, but just in case.

By the way, I tasted the top ranked beer in the world last night. It's called Westvelteren XII (or close to it) and it is brewed by these abbey monks in Belgium. They never sell the beer outside of the Belgium (to maintain their vow of poverty) except now they need money to refurbish their abbey so they sold a few hundred cases in the US for the first time ever. It was a very delicious beer, though firmly in the Belgian style, which I don't get that excited about anymore. Being a Pacific Northwest'er, I go in for the strong, flavorful IPAs.

Speaking of flavor, remember those maple bacon bars from Voodoo doughnuts? Nice work Matt.

Max and I are reunited!  Hurrah!
 
Yesterday my daughter, Sarah, just accepted a job offer with Boundless, an ed tech company in Boston.  She and Matt, our college senior, are home for the holidays -- so we are all very happy.
 
Love and joy to you and yours!  What a year it's been... what a year it will be!

Holy shit Max! That is awesome news...though I knew it was in the works!
 
I can't believe you'll be running the whole office. You'll probably be too important now to write your summergates list but we'll certainly understand. Go get 'em!
