Hi Kathryn,

I am familiar with the use of light therapy for winter SAD, but I'm not sure how it could help with summer SAD since too much light is one of the primary triggers. Can you explain the theory?

I think they just did a search for SAD groups and didn't notice that this one was for Summer SAD. I actually started to take the survey - it is completely geared to those who have winter SAD and have considered using or have actually used light therapy.

Yes it's very much designed for someone who already uses a lightbox. For most of you I wouldn't bother looking at it. I left it up in case anyone actually also has Winter SAD (there are a few out there).

Anyone else bothered by this bright Spring light?

I have to say YES! The light is very bothersome.

However, we have been having many cloudy, foggy, and snowy days the last couple of weeks so the sunny days have been very minimized, but those days are bothersome. Also worth noting, we had an unusually warm and sunny winter and the bright sun was bothering me even in the winter months this year, really getting me down.

I've never had any tolerance for heat, but lately I've noticed that the heat and light affect me differently when taken separately.

Heat makes me angry, very angry, and it affects me physically, wiping me out. Light make me very depressed and hopeless and gives me anxiety. Even during the shortest days of winter, light has this effect on me.
