When I was a kid there was a fire and brimstone church revival in the
small town I lived in. This was the name of the opening sermon.
Today's days weather must be the answer to what I thought was a
retorical question. Some months ago when we were talking about hot
weather I shared with you all that the weather that I had the most
difficult time with came in October. Well this is it. Yes I am
really looking forward to the return of the weather we have had for
the last month and a half. It really has been great. But I need to
do some wrighting to get through todays weather becasue this is the
worst there is. The choking smoke and the blasting hot wind, makes me
want to run away. This is as gross as it gets. My head, throat, and
eyes hurt and my whole body aches. I find it completly depressing.
When I lived in Colorado fall was always my most favorite time of
year. I really miss fall weather and I can't wait for it to return.

Understood, Dana.
Hang in there, it'll "blow" away.
At least when it's dry, the AC works better.

I like the story about your church sermon Dana!  I remember you mentioning October because I sympathized with it.....it's like kicking us when we're already down!

I can't wait for the end of the week "partly cloudy and 70" heck at this point I'd even take 75 ;-)  such heat at this time of year feels so unnatural to me.  At least it cools down a bit in the evenings now to balance out the "sauna effect" of those Santa Anas.  the dry air just sucks life out of me tho--the ac seems to make it worse and make me sick.  It's hard to get excited about even our "band aid" measures.....cold showers, ice water, think cool!  I second Larry--hang in there!!! but I also just want to run away from it all....Friday can't get here soon enough!

Dana - Looks like Hell from the news coverage - can't imagine adding in the the smoke and heat. How close are you to the fires? When I lived in eastern Washington, we had to deal with the occasional dust storm & that was bad enough. Aren't the Santa Anas known for driving people a little nuts? Sounds like a lot to have to get through ...

I don’t write often but I read all the mail. But today was the ugliest day I have ever experienced in L.A. It was even 95% in San Clemente, which usually runs 10-15% below the valley temps. God I should have never left NYC!!
