Hi folks,

While looking at the available modules available for download I came
upon this nice-to-have idea.

As mentioned at:

http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Features#Connecting

a comprehensive import/export module would be great. It would include:

1. File import/export (zip, tarballs).
2. To/From Picasa, Flickr. Integrating the existing Picasa module and
including Picasaweb support. Also the existing Gallery2 bridge to
Flickr (http://gallery2flickr.sourceforge.net) could be used.
3. FTP, Email, Directory Monitoring.
4. More features as I think upon it...

The gist of my proposal (as many of these already exist but are
scattered) is that all important and frequently used import/export
tools should be available at one place in the CMS (vague example would
be the phpmyadmin import/export page).

Is it worth a Summer of Code Project? Am hanging around as n9986 at
#gallery.

Kind Regards
Nandeep

I think the scope of this one would be a bit too big for the summer,
and if you're not familiar with the Gallery 2 code base already, i
think it would be hard to learn everything you'd need to learn to pull
this off, and then write it, all before the end of the summer!

Thats not quite up to date, but it's a good start!

Hey Chris,

I have already visited the ideas page.

Anyway, I suppose the mentors would not be interested in this idea.

But I had like to know that would it be a good idea if I cut down to just a simple archive import/export (zip/tarballs)?

Kind Regards,
Nandeep
