Eugene Capra, a visting scholar for CMU West, is doing research into
how open source projects manage themselves. It's completely at your
option if you'd like to complete the survey, but passing this along to
you in case you would like to participate.
Cheers,

--------------------
Dear Project Administrator,
I know that you are actively involved in a Google Summer of Code
project.
I am writing to ask for a few minutes of your time to help with a
small research project to obtain quantitative and qualitative data
comparing development processes and quality among Community Open
Source, Commercial Open Source, and traditional closed source
development projects.
In particular, we are interested in how open source projects are
organized, which managerial and social practices they adopt, and how
they address testing and quality issues within their projects.
We are interviewing commercial open source and traditional software
product companies to understand their managerial and social models.
We would like to compare these models with those of the most
significant and well established Community Open Source projects, such
as your project is, and we have created a three-part survey for this
purpose.
We hope that you will be willing to help us by completing the survey,
which is linked from the Center for Open Source Investigation at
Carnegie Mellon West: http://cosi.west.cmu.edu/mgmtsurvey
All survey results and related documents will be made public.
Thanks in advance for your time!
Eugenio Capra
