Dear colleagues,
Since our last survey in November 2006, oil prices and subsequently in
many countries also retail prices experienced new peaks. Despite the
sharp decline in the past weeks, the level as well as the high
volatility of oil and fuel prices remain an issue of concern for
decision-makers and citizens alike.
Therefore, our international survey of current fuel prices will again
be carried out by primarily using our network of GTZ-offices, projects
and other reliable contacts across the globe. We would be happy if you
could further strengthen our survey by informing us of the prevailing
prices of petrol and diesel fuel (as well as other information on the
issue if available) in your country on the survey date of 19 November
2008 by submitting the data on
http://www.sutp.org/index.php?option=com_fuelprices&Itemid=61&lang=ef.
We would also appreciate if you could submit the price for bottled LPG
(without price for bottle itself) in the "Remarks"-field.
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit GmbH -- German
Technical Cooperation (GTZ) -- with its global network of projects in
135 countries, regional offices and representations in 64 developing
countries, publishes a bi-annual study on the global fuel sector since
1999. GTZ's Fuel Price Survey continues to provide the only available
summary of developing countries' fuel price policies (PDF download:
