I know, I know....Hotmail is old/cack etc..."Why don't you just use a better email client"? etc etc (Because I've been using hotmail for 20+ years and I do have other emails too but I need this on my email address on my phone) but I cannot get Hotmail to work with iOS 17 Mail app at all. It used to work fine with iOS16 and other older operating systems on my iPhone 11 Pro.
2FA is very much supported on the native iOS mail app for hotmail/live. What you do is log into your hotmail/live account and go into your security settings page. There is a section for mobile devices and one time-use passwords. Generate a password to be used for a mobile device. Then when you setup your hotmail/live account on your iOS device, instead of using your actual login password for your hotmail/live account you will use that one time-use password that you just generated.
I have synced my hotmail contacts to my iphone. However, now i have all my contacts on my iphone and have lost some in my hotmail contacts. How do i transfer those contacts from my i phone to my hotmail account without transfering duplicates
For those having a Hotmail account and an iPhone too, you might want to have your Hotmail contacts, calendar, and email contacts on your phone. Syncing is the most effective way out. It ensures that whenever you receive a mail on your hotmail account, it can automatically get synced in your iPhone. If you have some contacts in your hotmail account, you wouldn't really want to copy them manually on your iPhone too. You can instead, let your iPhone do it all for you. No more missing out on your important messages. Or your contacts that remain in your Hotmail account. Hotmail has not only one of the most preferred email services, but it is also one of the easiest to sync with your iPhone.
That's all that you need to do to sync your hotmail account successfully. You can also set the syncing frequency so that you get updated as soon as a mail comes in. It is easy and one of the best ways to go about it. You would not have to worry about anything, and you would have an iPhone that does all that you would want it to do.
I installed our ORBI system yesterday and I get the exact same message. I do not even have a m.hotmail account. I get that message when I use the iphone ORBI app... no way to get rid of it... and no details appear when you hit the details button.
There are still a lot of people that own a hotmail.com email even though it has been long redirected to outlook.live.com. Hotmail is the first-ever public webmail that became accessible from a web browser. It is packed with all the essential features that most email providers offer such as Calendars, Contact, Events, Email Organization, and more.
Although you still use your @hotmail.com email address, it will, however, redirect to outlook.live.com. Microsoft has migrated over 300 million users. Currently, there have been alarming reports about Hotmail not working on iPhones.
I am still having the same problem as LadyBB; I have tried to add account under hotmail and Exchange and both my ipad and iphone cannot verify my email information. I use my hotmail everyday on the computer so i know my information is correct when i type it in. Any ideas?
I was able to intall Hotmail and my Hotmail calendar. The issue I have is if I create a calendar item for my hotmail calendar on originating from my iPhone it syncs to my hotmail calendar fine. However, if I create the event directly in my Hotmail calendar on the web, it does not sync to my iPhone. So FRUSTRATING! Any ideas?
