Hey fam,

Tomorrow's the day: Sulu DC's taking U Street Music Hall by storm with Miss Fortune: Spotlight on AAPI Women in Hip-Hop!

Not only did DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities support by partially funding our show, but we got love from our friends at BakitWhy.com, DCist and DCentric this week, not to mention the awesome trailer created by Christian from Kollaboration DC!

Need a reminder of what the show's all about? It's an all-female hip-hop showcase featuring Bay Area sensation Rocky Rivera, New York rapper-violinist duo Misnomer(S), hip-hop dance crew Kickrocks Crew, HBO spoken word poet Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai as host and performer and The Pinstriped Rebel on the decks. These women know boom bap, and they're coming to show and prove!

Tickets are $10 online and $15 at the door. Don't wait -- buy yours now: http://ticketfly.com/event/49947
Show begins 7:30 pm at U Street Music Hall, 1115A U Street NW DC 20009
Please note that this is an 18+ show.

The party doesn't stop there -- the afterparty is at Jin Lounge (2017 14th Street NW DC 20009)!

Thank you to our amazing community loudspeakers for supporting the show: Nomadic Wax, FUSED VA, NAPAWF-DC, Girls Rock! DC, Hip-Hop Theater Festival, George Washington University Korean Cultural Organization, Smart Chicks, Inc., clutch mgmt, Kollaboration DC, TGRI Online and Massey Media.

Learn and do, don't just watch! Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai, host and performer at Miss Fortune, will be presenting a spoken word workshop tomorrow at Bloombars before the show! Come learn from a three-time Def Jam poet. Limited space is available, so RSVPs are required (email dian...@gmail.com). $10 is the suggested donation.

Location: Bloombars, 3222 11th Street, NW (http://bloombars.com)

See you at the show and don't forget to buy your $10 tickets online!

Love & light,
Sulu Star System
