Sulu DC's APA Heritage Month Show will feature:
- Regie Cabico,
DC-based spoken word pioneer and slam poetry champion who, among a long
list of accolades and honors, was named the “Lady Gaga of Poetry” by Kenyon Review and featured on the HBO series, Def Poetry Jam;
- A-Class,
South Korea-born and Baltimore-bred rapper who’s made appearances on
92QJams’ Tuesday Night Fights, 2008 Scribble Jam preliminaries, the
Baltimore Masters competition and Grind Time, the world’s premiere rap
battle league;
- Cigarbox Planetarium,
a duo comprised of Andy Charneco and Deanna Pineda who create their
autotune-less instrumental music with guitar, keyboards and “Carl
Palmer”, their 1970’s Univox drum box;
- The West Fjords, a New York-based band who will transport you to another galaxy with their hauntingly atmospheric sound; and
- DC APA Film’s screening of “Manoj”, a short mock-umentary by Indian comedian Hari Kondabalu
