Hello all,
Does anyone know if we can use offline servicing since the move to UUP updates for windows 11 yet?
I am trying to come up with a way to always be deploying a somewhat recent 11 image and had swapped to uupdump.net but i have noticed some bugs with the images it makes.
The iso straight of the MS site always seems to be months out of date.
Would anyone here know how I can get offline help on programs (when I click F1) back on Windows 10? I find it a bit ridiculous if I need to go to my Windows 7 VM to start the calculator and get the help - I'm using the Win32 calculator, not the new one, btw. And I found out I'd like to know how to use a part of the programmer of it, so I went on Help --> Microsoft site with no help. That's cool.
So.... is there ANY way of redirecting the Help links to offline help again? On Windows 7 (with which I was until a month ago - and I regret having upgraded in parts and not in others, and this is one I regret), I had offline help on everyone and if I wanted online help, I just had to click on the Online thing button. On Windows 10 it's online if we want and if we don't, our problem - or I hope I'm amazingly wrong and there's a way of getting offline help on this thing.
I'm a field/mapping technician at a small municipal electric utility and have recently started making the transition to ArcGIS Pro/ArcGIS online from years of using ArcMap/ArcCatalog. I recently was using the Publisher extension to be able to put maps on Windows 10 tablets so linemen can view the maps (offline read only using ArcReader) in the field. I want them to be able to view the maps, but not be able to make any changes.
Here's the problem - it looks as though ArcGIS online is really geared towards iOS, and I have no Apple devices at this time. The ArcGIS Explorer app for the Windows 10 tablet is currently in Beta, and does not work very well, and does not work offline at all. A customer service rep told me I could use the Collector app, but the workarounds to be able to use the maps offline is very time consuming, and I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Also, we have 20+ maps that would need to be viewed at any given point offline in the field. An example of this would be a power outage in a remote area - the line crew would need to pull out the tablets offline and be able to view the maps without having the luxury of coming back to the shop, docking their tablets (because our office doesn't have wifi.........) and downloading the map. It's worth mentioning that I have an Android phone, and the collector app works fairly well but crashes from time to time.
I am trying to find a way to use maps offline. I am not trying to edit or do GPS or use a PDA or smartphone. I have my laptop, and I am in a new city, and I want to be able to pull up street maps to help me navigate around the city. I won't have an internet connection is the issue. I found a place to download the data for this city, but I don't know of a program that can open it and use it the way I want to use it offline.
GpsMid: also offline and vector map ... originally for JavaME devices, but you can run it with microemu on any desktop PC with Java (increase screen size of the emulated device!) ... new release with house number searching.
SOLVED:
Win10 Home is no longer letting you setup an offline account on install if you connect to the Internet during setup regardless of build. You are forced to create a Microsoft Account & then you have to create a local account later & remove the Microsoft Account.
If you are intending to create a local offline account after the fresh installation of Windows 10 and you find Windows forcing you to create an online account. The simplest way out is to remove the network cable from your PC or disconnect your WiFi if you are already connected. Windows will immediately ask you for your name and password and create an offline account for you.
Reproduce your install on another machine with internet (save conda list --export to a file and conda install --file). Then use conda update on that machine to generate and download the packages. One tip that could be helpful is if you take several conda packages and tar them up into a flat tarball you can use conda to install that tarball and it will install all the packages. Or you can put the packages in the pkgs cache and use the --offline flag.
What docker for windows, should I be using? I processed 672 photos (resized) in 54 minutes, a terrible quality model, but I will work on fixing that issue. Should I try a newer Docker for Windows, to keep up with WebODM upgrades and etc.

Hi. I am getting Critical event on Windows Computer: offline with duration from 1ms to 0ms. How to change the setting not to get this Critical event? I do not think that this is relevant event as it is caught on SQL instance from our remote location.
04:30 - no idea if I'm running Evernote "offline" or not. Can't click in the note. Is that supposed to be my indication Evernote is offline? Or should I wait in case it's just a pause in the program running? Is the note fully sync'd?
Hi, i realized that Evernote 10 actually syncs and stores the whole account to the harddrive. Look at: C:/users/youraccount/appdata/roaming/evernote. The folder ony my computer is as big as the storage folder of the parallel installation of legacy evernote. When cutting of Wifi the client still accesses the downloaded content. So it seems the offline functionality is already included but without any convenience (no status indication of being online/offline, no possibility to mark certain or all notebooks for offline storage).
Does anyone know for sure what is the plan for a real offline mode? Will it return (soon)? Is it gone for good? On the release page, it is neither mentioned under "What features are not yet available in the new app?" nor under "What features are no longer supported in the new app?" (except "local notebooks", but that's a different story I think).
I have read elsewhere that offline notebooks (stored locally for offline access but still sync'd to the cloud) will be coming. They have stated that local notebooks (stored locally but NOT sync'd to the cloud) will no longer be supported. Some of us used local notebooks for the security of not having data sitting on a cloud server. Maybe someday they will implement encrypted notebooks to address security concerns, but until then, some of us are sh%t out of luck and will have a tough decision to make when the legacy version is no longer supported or breaks.
I've decided to install Windows 10 on my MacBook Air (256GB, 2019 Model) using bootcamp in order to stream Netflix offline using their app. I'll be downloading movies using their app, to watch them offline later.
