HIguys! I decided to perform long drive self test using the "hp hardware diagnostics tool" and after a while it move to 10 and stopped. The results where "failed". Anyone know why? Cos short drive test shows passed and SMART shows my disk is healthy.
Those tests are checking different things. So your drive has no basic issues or SMART problems. My guess is there are a couple bad sectors. I would replace it but if you do a chkdsk you can find out for sure if there are bad sectors and mark them so the system does not try to write data to them. You are going to have to replace the drive soon regardless.
The fixing probably meant there were file system errors which may have triggered the error in the long test. You may have repaired it but I would keep an eye on the drive. You should run these tests say every 30 days for a while and if it passes a couple times in a row I would say your drive is still OK.
So, how do you hit the golf ball long and keep it inbounds? According to pro long drive professionals, who are capable of regularly hitting the ball over 400 yards with a ball speed in excess of 225 mph, flexibility, technique, and form are important components in generating huge amounts of thrust. Where most golfers think about hitting the ball harder at address, professional long drive competitors say they focus on swinging the club faster. After all, it is a 150-mph club head speed and an explosive upward motion that allows them to consistently hit the ball long and between the sticks. Nonetheless, you have to remember, these are world class athletes who have the mental discipline and physical skills to tee-it-up in front of packed grandstands with only three minutes to hit six balls and move on to the next round.
Yes i agree. Somehow i manged to get 2/5, but I'm still not 100% sure what constitutes a long drive. I don't recall getting 100% exactly but i may have. I wish they had a tracker in the side so you would know if it counted or not. If you need exactly 100% that is almost impossible to do 5/5 times in a row
Ignore the first few attempts, my arm kept getting bumped. But the last 2 are over 300 yards, with a driver, using drive, and it lands and stays on the fairway but I don't get progress towards long drive. I have satisfied the caddie tip at the beginning where it gives the formula for long drive, and hit over 300 yards and no progress.

Summarize your bug The in-game stated requirement is 'Long Drive = A Driver + Power of 100% + a Fairway in Regulation' but it seems the actual requirement is something different.
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Either try a challenge that requires long drives to be completed, or set up a custom round of a single par 4 hole, hit a drive onto the fairway and then complete the hole to see if the final stats include a Long Drive (like I did for the videos I'll share below).
What happens when the bug occurs? Not all shots that meet the stated Long Drive criteria are counted as such, and it seems to me that this is affected by player character development in some way.
What do you expect to see? All shots that meet the stated Long Drive criteria are counted as Long Drives.
I completed the challenges OK myself so I can't retest them but I've done some testing on a single hole to see if the end of hole stats show that a Long Drive has been achieved. I used hole 17 at TPC Boston since this is used for the Skills Trainer 'Driving Challenge 2'.
If I use a brand new character (zero skill points or specs applied) I can get long drives to count OK. Here's an example, with the tee shot right at the start and then jumping to the end of the short clip you'll see this counted as Long Drive:
If I switch to my main player I can't get the tee shot to count as a long drive despite meeting the stated criteria as far as I can see. Here are two examples, with the first using shot-shaping to bend it round onto the fairway and the second where I deliberately clip the tree on the right to stop it running off the end of the first section of fairway. This character is level 46 and I have Dustin Johnson's driver spec equipped.
For main gameplay it's no big deal if shots count as Long Drives or not but as the thread I linked to shows this has been causing some frustration when it comes to challenges. My guess is something needs correcting behind the scenes but if not the stated criteria for what counts as Long Drive needs to be updated so at least players know what they need to do. Right now I at least can't figure it out.
