Thereare two methods I found to find and install the device drivers (one for the printer, and one for the scanner). I'll document the easiest one for Ubuntu users in the hopes that we can all learn something from this.

Note: possibly poor User interface on that web page - it is easy to miss large selection of other printer types in horizontal scrolling blue bar in middle of page. I think that is why I missed this simple solution the first time (doh!).

I downloaded the latest driver from the canon website. When I went to install, I got the error message, "An older version of the MF drivers exist in this computer. Uninstall the older version of the MF drivers, and then try to install again." OK, so I went into the programs list and installed the Canon driver and the Canon Toolbox. Right-clicked and removed (uninstalled?) the unknown USB device. Unplugged the USB cable. Rebooted. Still got the same error message when I tried to install the new stuff.

So I searched my C: drive for anything with the word "Canon" and "MF48". I deleted all files except for what was in "Recent" and what was in "C:\windows.old". I want to be able to go back to Windows 7 if necessary. Rebooted even. But still got the older driver error message.

I did get an error message about "Failed to remove package cnxrpua6.inf. Access is denied". That's why I wrote above that maybe the "Remove driver only" option might work better. But the error didn't matter since I was instantly able to install the Canon drivers I had downloaded. No reboot required.

Please right-click on the MF630C Series icons and verify that there are no documents in the queue. If the queue is clear, restart the computer, and then perform the deletion from Print Server Properties again.

I have uninstalled all the printers, downloaded the setup software a long with firmware update. Everything installed properly and the printer device was added, but when I try to print a test page, I get a message "Unable to Create a print Job". The printer is attached and visible, and I updated the firmware on the printer. This has to be an issue with the latest update from Microsoft. All my printers worked just fine before the update.

I understand that you have multiple HP printers (HP laserjet p1006, HP LaserJet Pro P1102w and the HP Oficejet pro 6968 printers). Post the Windows update the printers have stopped printing. I appreciate your efforts in troubleshooting this issue and have certainly done a good job.

You may attempt to print. In case the issue persists then a new user account can be created in Windows and the drivers once again installed in the new user account. To create a new user account, please refer to "Creating a new account" from this HP document.

When I hit print, the copy machine shows Receiving Data and Spooling, then the log shows the print job, and says job OK-acts like it printed! But nothing else happened. It doesnt get all cycled up, it doesnt spit out a blank page or anything.

Yes but was your friend printing from Windows 10? I would first ensure that you are connected by an IP direct port and not using a windows WSD port. I would also check the Canon website for any updated drivers designed for Windows 10. This is not an unheard of problem. I have some issues printing from some versions of Adobe Reader to current HP product and usually a combination of drivers and firmware updates resolves the issue.

We've got some Canon ImageRunner copiers, and the performance is terrible for printing PDF files. For instance I just sent a job that's 11 pages, and it's taking some twenty minutes to print. A page comes out...then it sits there processing...another page comes out...and it sits there processing...and so on. This particular machine is an ir6020.

Some PDFs don't take as long as others, but for the most part they all take a very long time. I've tried the latest drivers, both PCL and PS3. Currently I'm trying the 4.62 drivers from Canon Canada (the latest from Canon USA is 4.55). Our Canon rep hasn't been very helpful. Thankfully we don't print a lot of PDFs...other documents come flying out of the machines nice & quick.

Update: I was able to print the current document I'm having trouble with by using the latest 6.62 version of the PCL driver. I don't believe this problem is gone, however, since I've been battling it for a long time, and sometimes the PS3 driver is faster, sometimes the PCL driver is faster. I can't find a pattern.

Mainly, since some PDFs take longer, it could be an issue with rastering (rasterizing?) the graphics of the PDF. You can try enabling or disabling "Print as image" to see if that helps. Also, if a text-only PDF prints quickly, that may be the whole issue. I know in older printers, this could be helped by upgrading memory, but this doesn't appear to be the problem here.

So I noticed over the past couple of months that my copier is taking hours to print a report that is 20 pages long. So I spent hours and hours of time, deleting print drivers re-installing and rinse and repeat. Finally I deleted all print drivers removed everything from windows cleared spoolers and everything else I could manage to do. downloaded the latest drivers available for Windows 10 etc. I let it install 3 different versions of the driver from PCL, PS3 etc. I still had all of the issues. I check everything when I send it to print and finally I made 2 changes in my PDF print settings. #1. Fit to Page. #2. Print Both Sides. Once I removed those 2 settings everything started working properly again.

It's a old question, but to give you a detail not told by anyone else, for optimizing PDF printing you need the PostScript's module inside your printer and memory upgrade too from the formater board, possibly with a HDD for the temporary cache.

Windows will not give you an error if you use a PostScript driver or not even if the pritner does not have the module, BUT, the formatting inside the printer will not change, as a simple 2 meg PDF can finish 2 gig inside the spooler easily.. The difference with the PostScript module is; the printer will receive raw files and after it will cache it and make the work on it.

To circumvent the problem, like other said, it's mostly to use Acrobat and make it send as an image, that way the printer just print the output without dealing with the output, but you loose a lot of DPI.

After connecting your printer to Windows 10, you need to install an appropriate driver. The Canon website is available to download Canon printer drivers. You can go to their website to find and download the driver you need. Below, you will find how to download and install Canon printer drivers from official website.

Since Canon has several official sites like UK site, USA website, Europe website, etc., and they can not share the same template, so it is recommended to use the browser to search for drivers directly.

Because of these considerations, finding the correct drivers can be manually wasted time. If you do not want to waste a lot of time updating drivers, you can consider using Driver Restore to help you. Driver Restore is a driver update tool that can detect any problematic drivers in your computer in seconds. Then all the drivers can be updated in a few minutes.

Your Canon printer still works correctly, but the new Windows 8 or 10 computer does not recognize the machine. In addition, the provided CD does not offer drivers and software for the latest version of Windows. Fortunately, Canon offers to download the driver for free from printers and scanners. It also works to install the device on Windows 10, Linux and even Mac (iMac and Macbook).

Driver Restore will be a great help to make sure all components of your machine are up to date. This utility does the scanning of your machine to detect obsolete device drivers. If it finds one, the software will simply download and install them automatically for you, all in one click. It is one of the free drivers update tools with a unique feature that beats the rest of tools available on the internet.

Driver Restore is a driver updater tool that will scan your computer for suitable drivers and provide them in an easy, convenient method. Driver Restore registration is $29.95 USD for 1-year subscription. Driver Restore provides advanced scanning of your computer system. After a system scan has been performed all users will be provided the option to update out-of-date or missing drivers. Updating drivers is provided at a charge while scanning is provided at an unlimited basis.

The first thing you need to do is to check if your Canon printer is switched on and connected to the PC in question. This may seem basic but it is surprisingly easy to overlook! If your printer is still not working, follow the steps set out below:

Not all printer manufacturers are offering new Drivers that will work with Windows 10. In some cases, you might see the printer manufacturer has ended the support to the printer model you own. However, there is a way around this issue.

If your printer manufacturer is not offering Windows 10 compatible Printer Drivers, you can try Windows 8 Printer Drivers as they may work. In most cases, the Printer Driver is a .exe file. You need to uninstall the printer by starting from Step 4 above.

If your printer is detected after the upgrade, you need to follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer. When Windows 10 scans for connected devices, it will give you a few options if it does not find any Drivers. Here are the steps you need to follow
