Position Description
The tester supports quality assurance programs and processes in alignment with QA strategy.
The Automation tester is responsible for establishing the Test automation strategy, design, develop, execute the automation test scripts and report as per test automation standards. Also provide feedback on artifacts developed during requirements and analysis phases. The tester also be performing manual test case documentation and test execution as needed but will heavily participate in establishing our test automation approach and automation testing.
Position/Project Specific Requirements:
- 8+ years of relevant experience in software quality assurance
- 4 + years of Selenium experience and equivalent Test automation tools
- Knowledge of Java
- 3+ years SQL utilizing complex queries and writing stored procedures
- Firm understanding of Application Development architectures
- Exposure to SOA Testing
- 3+ years of Agile methodology experience
- 2+ years of using Quality Center/ALM for test case management
- 1+ years of using Jira for defect tracking
Position/Project Specific Preferences/Desires:
- Prefer Agile methodology being utilized in the current/most recent project
- Prefer experience in the SAFe Agile approach
Essential Job Functions:
- Work within an Agile methodology
- Develop and review test plans and test scripts
- Automate test efforts using automation standards and tools
- Ensure accurate reporting, in terms of content and infrastructure by researching and identifying source of errors
- Understand the data model and Design.
- Perform root cause and trend analysis to identify recurring patterns of errors
- Ensure data standards/integrity are maintained in order to deliver the highest quality products
- Participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies (PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Scrum, Retrospectives, Showcases, etc).
- Document defects and evaluate priority of defect based on overall application functionality
- Coordinate test script reviews with stakeholders as appropriate.
- Adhere to requirement review, defect writing & test script writing guidelines
- Keep QA Lead and management informed of current state of quality and test progress
- Ensure completion of all deliverables are within schedule, budget and quality constraints.
- Ensure that projects follow prescribed software development life cycle standards.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with project team.
- Multi-task to meet assignment deadlines
- Accurately estimate work assignments
- Show assertiveness
- Identify obstacles and roadblocks; and offer suggestions to work around obstacles
- Help drive and improve QA process within the team you are assigned
