SST / Descendents podcast (some Hüsker content)

The Vinyl Guide podcast recently had an episode with Bill and Milo from the Descendents, discussing the reissues of their 1980’s SST albums. The episode is here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-vinyl-guide-artist-interviews-for-record/id1048766030?i=1000717501344

What’s interesting and possibly Hüsker-relevant is that they were able to get the rights to their records back from SST. However, in the podcast, Bill flatly refused to discuss anything about the negotiations with SST, even saying that he wouldn’t do so because someone (presumably Greg Ginn) is very litigious. He also wouldn’t discuss what specifically - master tapes, outtakes, etc - they were able to get from SST.

So it sounds like the Descendents did get SST on board with the reissues, but it doesn’t sound likely that the SST vaults will be opening up anytime soon. I don’t know if anyone - including the band - knows anything about whether the Hüsker SST masters even exist anymore.

There’s also a nice anecdote from Milo about hearing Hüsker Dü for the first time. Definitely worth a listen.
