Thanks for this. 

I thought the same thing about the lyrics to House of Dead Memories and it being a message to fans. However whilst 30 odd years ago that may have made sense, Bob seems to have been in a much better place over the past few decades with regard to his legacy. 

Also interesting that HoDM was written a while ago as for a while it did seem like a Bob song rather than a Sugar one. I still can't quite put my finger on where the difference is but it may be the layering that is mentioned in the article? Or the way that the parts on the Sugar songs were all recorded separately? 

I actively listened to House repeatedly as an experiment to recreate my original  Sugar album days - predominately on tape, with auto reverse. This did help and it seems more Sugar than Bob now but there is a distinct difference in feel when Alexa finishes HoDM and moves onto anything from the 90's Sugar catalogue. 

Still ridiculously excited for May though...
