Both new songs today are fantastic! I always thought the Wurster/Narducy band sounded a lot like Sugar. They're a great band, but THIS is Sugar.

Still no Canada - but I can drive to Detroit for a LOT less than the trip to New York... do I *also* do the New York show I previously bought? HAHA

Thanks for the heads up!

The new song is good. Very current Bob Mould. Maybe a little more shoegaze sheen on this (especially in the verse) than we would have gotten in a new Bob/Jason/Jon  song. I'll never complain about more Bob Mould music, but the fun of this reunion seems like it's gonna be the shows and hearing the old songs. Salivating over hearing The Slim.

BTW Jason was on the Vinyl Emergency podcast again talking mostly about his book and the REM stuff. He mentions Bob being busy with the Sugar stuff without mentioning the tour (the podcast came out a few days ago).

Did I miss insane dates for the tour?  Very exciting!

TivoliVredenburg -- nice! One of the better venues in Holland. That's a definite "Yes", and I'm also considering the Antwerp show which is on a Sunday.

I liked the original typo better. ;-)

Without irony: just hit the RSVP button and enter your email address, and you'll get a notification when presale tickets are available (same mechanism as for the initial run of just New York and London).

Sorry, I spoke too soon. From the Bob Mould Newsletter (newsl...@bobmould.com):

I just got my First Ave ticket.   I was going to go both nights but not for fucking $71 per ticket.  That's unreal.

I think that's (sadly) becoming more common... $100 CAD for any medium-size artist is becoming standard, sadly.

(I bought a Detroit ticket as it's a shorter drive from Toronto but opted not to also get a Pittsburgh ticket as close as that would be to do both)

Picked up a Cleveland and Pittsburgh ticket, back to back shows!

Around $200 in total.  Figured I may never see this again so might as well splurge.

Much less expensive than a Taylor Swift ticket. Much louder, too!

In for 2 at the Palladium in LA...  $67 a pop all in...  Not too terrible.

Thinking about SF or Denver...

Where my diehards at?  I'm in for 6 shows at this point.  NYC X3, Cleveland (same front row mezz seats I had in 1994!), Pittsburgh, Hudson.  I can't help it.  I was a broke-ass college student when Sugar wrapped it up and only saw them twice on the FUEL tour.  I was on the phone to purchase 1993 Toronto tickets and decided it was smarter to study for my Organic Chem final the next day.  I was wrong.

Me! I only got one on the FUEL tour (Orpheum, had just moved to Boston a
few weeks earlier) and it was kind of an off night.

I'm in for:
NYC x2
London x2
Dublin
and of course Boston

see y'all in May

Strange, for me Warfield tickets are showing up as $89 for GA. Cheapest seats are $67 for upper balcony.

The Warfield GA floor tickets are $71 before the service fees.

Unlike John, I'm more of a seated show guy, so I got a ticket in the first row of the Loge ($101 + $21.19 fees). I figure I saved a lot more than that by *not* seeing Sugar in the past 30 years. (Actually, the last time I saw them was in Nov 1992, also at The Warfield.)

Been hurting financially,, Just got cleaned out with divorce and need to find a job and  I'm going to try to make at least one show in New York.  It'll be good it'll be like old times we'll see if we can get a recreation of our group chat together from the 90s don't know if Screwball is also going I hope so.

You rang? London (2x), Utrecht, Antwerp. Briefly considered Paris as well, but opted for a long family weekend in Antwerp (great city!) instead.

I reckon I'm the "winner" in terms of different countries (3) but that's an easy feat in Western Europe. In terms of distance covered I think Cameron (Canada => UK) and Rob (Australia => UK) are the list champions.

Will organise list meetups in London (likely the Bull & Gate), Antwerp (no clue yet) and Utrecht (no clue either).

I got 3, too (US, UK, Ireland). I'll be hitting Paris on that same trip
but not in time for the show. If I wanted to rack up the mileage,
Seattle on my 50th birthday is tempting but...

I’m doing London and Bristol. I’ve seen Sugar once in Manchester and twice in Cardiff before. Looking at an old ticket it was £6.50 to see them in 92, it’s £60 this time but to be honest I’ve waited so long for a chance I never thought would come again I’d pay 10x that. Looking forward to meeting list members for the first time as well.

According to https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/monetary-policy/inflation/inflation-calculator , £6.50 in 1992 should be £14.53 now, but what do I know.
