Nice update from Numero on the upcoming box. The Salt Lake City show was a surprise to show up. Sound is a little thin, but similar to some of the sound on the circulating 1985 soundboards. I will say that its nice to see something that I hadn't known existed.

Numero Digest Vol. 22: Hüsker Dü Special Part II
Going to keep this as short and sweet as possible.

1) New Tunes
We're still banging through this treasure trove of Dü tapes and ephemera. A lot of brainstorming and I think we are getting closer to envisioning a proper physical project but still some more work to be done to unearth enough stuff to properly follow up Savage Young Dü. Here's where we are at: We've transferred and restored a bunch of tapes now and this show at Salt Lake City is a stand out show amongst the stand out shows. This never-before-heard soundboard recording survived in the group's archive and comes at the tail end of an almost 90 show run in 1985. We're releasing a section of the show featuring 5 future classics from yet-to-be released Candy Apple Grey heard for the first time by this feverish crowd.

2) 1985 Tour Shirt Update
We capped the orders at 1 week and ordered the exact amount from our printer. I'm glad we did that because if not, we would have severely underordered. Screen-printing is wrapping up this week and we'll get everything bagged and tagged, probably late next week, early week after. You will get a shipping notice from our site. Appreciate the patience and support!

3) PRE-ORDER: The 1985 Oar Folk Fire Shirt
Because the first shirt did so well and also because we got a ton of emails about people missing the cut-off window for ordering, we are releasing another era-appropriate limited T-shirt tribute. We're calling this one the "1985 Oar Folk Fire" shirt as a tribute to a very similar pinkish tie-dye with blue ink shirt only  available at influential Minneapolis alternative record shop Oar Folkjokeopus. The shop was gutted in a fire during 1985 with any original stock of this shirt going up in flames. The 2025 version will be again made to order with pre-orders going for the next week and will be printed on Comfort Colors Colorblast as a nod to the original dye job.

Here's a the new look with possibly the only surviving photo of the original Oar Folkjokeopus exclusive below.
And now some Non Hüsker Dü Numero stuff

More Hüsker Dü more often is my mantra, but I always wonder about soundboards for bands that rock and lean on amplification. They always sound thin. This may be hard to pull off, but I feel like the way to go would be to air-gap it: replay it in a venue of suitable size with suitable equipment then mic the room. That is almost certainly going to lead to a more enjoyable, authentic experience, even if you lose a little vocal clarity in the process.
Not that this would keep me from pre-ordering.

It does sound great and I'm super excited about it. But didn't they say it was coming out this year? Or do I have that wrong? If that were the case they'd be pressing it now, not still compiling it. Maybe these teasers are just post-dated for marketing or something... either way, I'm all in!

I wouldn’t mind the guitars being a bit louder but also all in and excited some of this is finally happening

Also surprised they haven’t gone after the low hanging fruit that being reissuing/mastering the Warners records.

I know the Rhino people that worked on the Replacements reissues and they said the process is straightforward.

Guess we will see
