At the onset, I apologise to the members for not being able to attend the AGM due to prior family commitments.
However, I welcome the incoming board members consisting of energetic people who came forward to offer their services for our beloved Society.
If permitted, I would like to put forward the following suggestions:
1. I feel, after the outgoing Board meeting presents it's agenda, the observations of the Hon. EC, emailed on 1st August, 2025 declaring the Election results, should be presented and approval of the General Body sought, as advised by the Hon. EC.
2. One of the agenda items proposed by the incoming Secretary is approval of the General Body for election through PoA.
However, it's important to define rules of PoA and not kept open. Some suggestions are as under:
A) Only the residents of Sugam can be given PoA.
B) PoA should be restricted to nearest relatives e.g. Husband, Wife, Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Son and Daughter only. PoA favouring non-relatives or distant relatives must be discouraged.
C) It's to be decided whether PoA will be simple or registered or with selling rights or without.
D) An approved format of PoA would help to avoid confusion if people use different formats.
These are merely my personal suggestions. The esteemed members of the General Body may decide as they deemed fit.
Thanks and regards.
