Snag is when I install AutoCAD Raster Design 2010 it says it cannot find AutoCAD won't install. I tried messing with the setup.ini but it will not install. I suspect it is a problem with the fact that AutoCAD is installed as a true 64-bit and raster design only has a 32 bit install.
No I have the installs from disk that I nomally use for 32-bit installs. When I went to the Autodesk portal there was only 32-bit install available. AutoCAD 2010 I did find the 64-bit install and that is what is loaded.
Are you creating a deployment or doing a direct install? I mainly work with deployments but this should be relevant either way. It will appear on one of the first few install screens at the bottom there is 2 check boxes. This is a 32-bit and 64-bit install this is where you will be selecting the type.
This useful autocad video focuses on how to apply AutoCAD raster design software to cleanse and transform scanned image plan into AutoCAD drawings file. This software is very useful to obtain the DWG files out of scanned images with the use of powerful raster editing and raster-to-vector conversion tools. The users can edit scanned drawings in a common AutoCAD environment.
Apply customary AutoCAD commands on raster regions and primitives. Ability to remove raster images, lines, arcs, and circles efficiently.
Vectorization tools
Generate lines and polylines out of raster images, and transform raster files into vector drawings.
Image transformation functionality
Demonstrate and evaluate geo images in AutoCAD Civil 3D civil engineering software and AutoCAD Map 3D mapping software.
The most updated version is AutoCAD Raster Design 2018 that contains some exciting features like improved scanned drawings with raster-to-vector conversion as well as support for windows 32-bit and 64-bit.
In this study, the Raster Design toolset boosted productivity by up to 48%.* Learn how Raster Design can help you save time when working on an AutoCAD drawing that requires a raster image to convey design intent.
AutoCAD is computer-aided design (CAD) software that is used for precise 2D and 3D drafting, design, and modeling with solids, surfaces, mesh objects, documentation features, and more. It includes features to automate tasks and increase productivity such as comparing drawings, counting, adding objects, and creating tables. It also comes with seven industry-specific toolsets for electrical design, plant design, architecture layout drawings, mechanical design, 3D mapping, adding scanned images, and converting raster images. AutoCAD enables users to create, edit, and annotate drawings via desktop, web, and mobile devices.
AutoCAD LT is powerful 2D CAD software used for precision drafting and documentation. AutoCAD includes all the features of AutoCAD LT, plus additional features to benefit productivity such as 3D modeling and automation of repetitive processes. AutoCAD also lets you customize the user interface with APIs and add-on apps. With AutoCAD, users are able work more efficiently with seven industry-specific toolsets to enhance automation and productivity for tasks in architecture, mechanical design, electrical design, plant design, plumbing, converting raster images, geographic information systems, and 3D mapping.
