Role:  Sr. Jira/Confluence Developer 

Location: Ridgefield Park, NJ 

Duration: 1 Year


Day 1 onsite and Hybrid work

  

Requirements & Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) 
  • Proven experience in customizing and configuring JIRA and Confluence. 5 or more years of relevant job experience in a large (1000+ users) Atlassian server environment (not Atlassian cloud, but server or data center versions) 
  • Proficiency in Atlassian products, including JIRA Software, JIRA Service Management, Confluence and Crowd 
  • Deep expertise in Jira workflow administration 
  • Experience with plugin development using technologies like Atlassian SDK, Java, JavaScript, and REST APIs 
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban) 
  • Experience with integrating Atlassian tools with other systems (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Slack) 
  • Must have at least intermediate level Linux system administration skills 
  • Must be proficient in at least one or more scripting languages such as bash 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and with stakeholders at all levels of the organization 

  

Responsibilities 

  • Customization and Configuration: Customize JIRA and Confluence to meet the specific needs of our organization, including creating JIRA projects/queries/reports, configuring workflows and custom fields, issue types, and permission schemes. 
  • Plugin Development: Develop custom plugins and extensions for JIRA and Confluence to enhance functionality and meet business requirements. 
  • Integration: Integrate JIRA and Confluence with other software and systems, such as version control systems, DevOps continuous integration (CI) tools, and third-party applications. utilize tools or write ETL scripts to import data from external systems. 
  • User Training and Support: Provide training and support to users to ensure they can effectively use JIRA and Confluence for project management, issue tracking, and collaboration. 
  • Documentation: Maintain documentation for JIRA and Confluence configurations, customizations, and integrations. 
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues and errors within JIRA and Confluence, working closely with the IT and support teams. 
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor the performance of JIRA and Confluence and implement optimizations as needed to ensure system stability and efficiency. 
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure that JIRA and Confluence are configured and maintained in accordance with security and compliance standards and also, Implement IDP and SSO solutions using knowledge of LDAP/SAML 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Atlassian certification (e.g., JIRA Administrator, Confluence Administrator) 
  • Knowledge of database management and SQL. 
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). 
  • DevOps Hand-on Experience
