Dear All,

Please see below for an announcement about the NEGASS Iolanthe sing in January.  It's in western Massachusetts, which is perhaps not as far away as you might think.

NEGASS invites you to beat the winter blues and chase away the post-holiday slump!

Join us for a free sing-through of Iolanthe on January 11th, 2 PM at Wesley United Methodist Church, 98 N. Maple St., South Hadley, MA.

Roles will be precast and all attendees are the chorus. Bring your own score, or borrow one from our library. John Dreslin of the Connecticut Gilbert & Sullivan Society will accompany on keyboard.

The Lord Chancellor (comic baritone)
George, Earl of Mountararat (baritone)
Thomas, Earl Tolloller (tenor)
Strephon, an Arcadian Shepherd (baritone)
Phyllis, an Arcadian Shepherdess and Ward in Chancery (soprano)
Queen of the Fairies (contralto)
Iolanthe, a Fairy, Strephon's mother (mezzo-soprano)
Celia, a Fairy (soprano)
Leila, a Fairy (mezzo-soprano)
Fleta, a Fairy (speaking role)

NEGASS has been fostering the appreciation of the works of Gilbert & Sullivan since 1976.  Our sings are fun, low-key events that provide an opportunity for people to sing roles that are new to them or reprise roles they have enjoyed in the past. All are welcome to apply for any role they fancy!
