Manager, Infrastructure Support, J1007-0149 Permanent

Location: Toronto or Sault Ste. Marie

Position summary:

. Responsible for building, implementing, maintaining and supporting the
system and network infrastructure, including the installation, security, and
maintenance of servers running traditional lotteries, Bingo,
casinos/racetracks and shared services applications. The systems
infrastructure includes 9,000 plus lottery terminals and 500+ servers.

. Responsible for assigning resources to infrastructure projects and
monitoring these projects to ensure they can be implemented into the
production environment with minimal risk.

. Scope of responsibilities includes network hardware and software and
server and storage hardware and software. The diverse nature of this
environment requires working knowledge of Windows Server, AIX, Open VMS,
DB2, Sybase, and MS SQL. LAN,WAN and CISCO

Major Responsibility Areas:

. Manage 2 primary teams (approximately 20 staff in total) at the Toronto
and Sault Ste. Marie office focusing on the Network (Voice and Data) and
Server layers. Activities include management meetings, status meetings with
each team leader and group, resolution of staffing issues, review of
overtime and expense sheets, status reporting, performance reviews, etc.

. Participate in overall Operations process improvement planning activities,
and lead and manage the implementation and execution of these best practices
within the Systems and Network Infrastructure groups.

. Manage an over 4 million dollar annual budget. Activities include
assistance in budget preparation, monthly variance reporting, and quarterly
forecasts. Approve expenses and prepare recommendations for larger
expenditures.

. Review key infrastructure and solutions delivery projects to understand
their impact to current systems and network infrastructure and security,
ensuring project risks are mitigated and ensuring Systems and Network
Infrastructure is equipped to manage the new solutions in production.
Provide advice to project leaders and technology specialists, and address
issues, escalating them to Director as required.

. Meet with current and potential service suppliers to understand their
offerings, initiate RFP process to select vendors as required, prepare
selection investigation and recommendations, negotiate contracts, and
participate in quarterly, monthly, or weekly vendor meetings to review their
performance and identify potential issues or opportunities.

. Responsible for evaluating user requests for service, and determining
whether and how such requests can be planned as part of day to day
operations, or whether they should be recommended as infrastructure
projects.

. Manage the escalation and resolution of production problems relating to
systems and network infrastructure through team leaders, administrators, or
analysts as required. Assess severity of issues, ensure proper vendors and
staff is involved, communicate situation/action plan to senior management
and audit.

. Ensure audit/OLGC requirements are understood, and that these Information
Security policies are monitored and enforced.

Minimum Qualifications:

. This position requires a minimum education level of a University Degree,
College Diploma or equivalent, with more than ten years progressive
experience in information technology, including more than 5 years experience
in leading a team of technical support staff.
. Knowledge of all data centre related operating processes and functions.
. Knowledge of existing technology component service levels is an asset.
. Proven technical knowledge of computer hardware and operating system is
required.
. Excellent written and oral communications skills.
. Superior leadership with the ability to develop others, superior customer
service skills and proven negotiating and conflict resolution abilities,
. Superior interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills,
. Demonstrated ability working with all staff and management levels, and
ability to effectively deal with multiple issues under time constraints.
. Superior vendor management skills.

Licenses, Certifications, Registration:

Requires an AGCO Gaming Employee Registration.
