Mandatory:

* Have extensive knowledge and understanding in the following: -
Project management standards, best practices and methodologies; - I&IT
standards and technologies, industry trends and offerings; -
Experience includes managing multiple small/medium scale application
development projects; - Experience in issue and risk management to
identify, monitor and manage risks and issues through to resolution or
mitigation by management;

* Computer skills: - Demonstrated Knowledge of and experience in
project management tools such as MS Project, EPM;

* Communication skills: - Proven interpersonal, negotiation,
collaboration and communication skills to build effective project
teams and develop client relationships; - Excellent leadership and
judgment skills;

* Organizational skills: - Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and
coordinate human, financial and material resources to lead project
teams;

* Other essential skills:
~ PMP certification;
~ Previous/proven UPM experience;
~ Knowledge of financial and controllership management to prepare
and monitor project budgets;
~ Procurement knowledge to support acquisition of software
solutions, hardware, services and external vendors;
~ Business Requirements gathering knowledge/experience;
~ Experience managing internal, program and external vendor
resources to ensure project is being delivered;
~ Knowledge of Mines and Minerals business practices/processes as it
relates to mineral land tenure;
~ Knowledge of Mining Act Modernization.

Responsibilities & Deliverables:

* Lead small to med scale, low risk I&IT projects;
* Use technical abilities to support other project managers and
project teams in support of medium to large initiatives;
* Develop and maintain project schedules based on objectives,
responsibilities, accountabilities, timelines and resource
availability;
* Update/develop project plans and their supporting plan
documentation;
* Provide support to project teams, respond to challenges and
determine priorities;
* Filter and communicate relevant information to managers and project
team members;
* Coordinate plans, assess risks and identify activities required to
meet established financial targets;
* Identify, monitor and manage risks and issues as they occur;
* Develop and maintain relationships with clients;
* Identify conflicts within and between projects or functional areas
and develop recommendations for resolution;
* Promote project management best practices, resource management
standards and follow standard methodologies; and
* Manage internal, program area and vendor resources as it relates to
deliverable of the projects.
