Few queries:
In the text it is mentioned: "research and advocacy on adoption"...
-Does this mean this database will be made available to every tom, dick and harry who wants to do "research"?
-Who has (or will have) access to this database?
-Is this a database promulgated by the Govt.?
-Are the "expected" govt. benefits dependent on the entry in this database? Is not this database already available with CARA?
-what kind of "govt. support and benefits" is expected?
------Will the govt. bear all education expenses of our children?
------all medical expenses of our children?
------will provide adequate insurance cover for aged parents, so that if the adoptive parents pass off, then the children are economically covered?
------will adopted children be covered under RTE - will they have special "undeniable" rights?
------can their vaccination costs be claimed?
------Would they be provided with free milk bottles and diapers till the age of 5?
------will their expenses for nutritional drinks/food be re-imbursed?
------Will adoptive APL families be given BPL ration cards?
------Would adoptive families be given free air purifiers to fight off air pollution and water purifiers to fight off water pollution?
------Would adoptive families be given free land in proportion to the number of children they adopted?
------Would adoptive families be given a monthly stipend?
------Would adoptive families have the services of a common maid pool, where home help is available at cheaper rates?
------What about detergent and soap expenses? Will the govt. bear this?
------Are there lawyers who will provide free service to adoptive parents? Are there doctors?

with best regards
Harekrishna

Dear Sudatta Members,

Families of Joy Foundation (www.familiesofjoy.org) is setting up a National Adoptive Parents' Registry with the prime objective of ensuring that PAPs across the country have access to guidance in their journey of adoption. There is none better than families already in adoption, to be their friend, mentor and guide.

We therefore request each one of you who is keen to engage with PAPs to register for the databank by providing details on their website, namely, Adoptive Parents' Registry and also encourage other families in adoption, that you may know of, to register for the same.

We also hope that beyond the immediate goal of offering counselling to PAPs, the repository will become an invaluable asset for research and advocacy on adoption, including govt. support and benefits.

The Foundation also publishes quarterly statistics, data on availability of children across states, Top 10 trends and Blogs related to adoption.

Please feel free to follow FoJ on Twitter (@familiesofjoy), Subscribe to FoJ You Tube Channel  and engage with FoJ as a vibrant community espousing the cause of adoption.

Regards

Avinash Kumar
