Dear Sudatta Family,
Started as a formal registered Association in Sep 1997, SUDATTA enters its 20th year. Beginning with a few families, we are now 300+ strong and growing. And as we grow, bloom and mature, our needs change, too !
With a view to rejuvenate this wonderful Group, the current structure could do with some organizational rejig. One common observation in recent times is the drop in attendance / participation. One possible reason could be the appropriateness of the event for the Members and more so, for the children of the Members. “One-size-fits-all” is perhaps not viable any more. The thought doing the rounds within the present Executive Committee is to create a new structure with sub-committees for each of the following groups, viz.:
· Pre-Adoptive Parents Group
Couples, who intend to, or have decided to adopt, and have registered on the CARA site or in the process of doing so,
· Adoptive Parents with young children Group
Parents whose adopted children are in the infant to say, 10 years of age
· Adoptive Parents with teenagers Group
Parents, whose children are in the teens / pre-teens (11-19 years)
· Adoptive Parents with young adults Group
Parents, whose adopted children are 20 years and older
We can give each of these Groups a catchy name as well !!
These proposed sub-committees will comprise of Members from the respective Groups, who will drive the meetings, events and interactions which are most beneficial for that Group. Maybe a Group Secretary plus 1 or 2 Committee Members would be the guiding force for each Group. The existing EC will be restricted to just a President, a General Secretary and the Treasurer, who will assist in coordination between the sub-committees and will drive the flagship events like the November Workshop, picnic / outing, sports meet and one annual gala dinner, with inputs from each of the sub-committees, besides continuing the task of connecting with similar groups in other cities and liaison with SARA / CARA. Let us choose some new, energetic and enthusiastic Members for each of these sub-committees as well as the President, General Secretary and the Treasurer.
This is a thought and needs wider acceptance and extensive deliberation. Let us all meet on Sunday, 26th June at 10 am at Banjara Academy, RT Nagar for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Sudatta. The AGM will be between 10 am and 1 pm, followed by a veg lunch. Please confirm to :
