I just found you guys and tested logging in, starting a clean and returning to charger with my R98.

Im happy to report that it worked pretty well. The map got lost, but was recoverable.

Edge doesnt do anything, i dont think the R98 has that ability.

Giving it a command to clean a specific room would be great in the future.

Have you used the Home Assistant or Hass.io integration at all with your R98?

I have barely activated it and just sent some test commands. To be honest, to make it usable fixing the mapping  function should be the first and maybe only priority. As long as the bot keeps loosing the map every time it fails to locate itself after getting stuck or the mopping device is attached commanding it to clean that or that area or returning to the charger is pretty useless. We really need to be able to save and upload the map before further integration is of much use.

After upgrading my hassio today for the first time in half a year my R98 showed up. Still, what really needs to be fixed is the ability to extract and upload the maps. This vacuum may suck, but it really sucks when loosing the map.

Not sure that I fully understand your issue? Are you loosing the map every time you start a clean through SUCKS?
I've been using sucks with my R98 for a year, never lost a map. My only issue is that getting battery level and charging state in Home assistant isn't working that well. Most times it's old values and it doesn't update for two days.

No, no. The vacuum fixes that all by itself, with or without SUCKS. If it gets stuck or out of battery or is used in an unmapped area its touch and go if it can recover the map. Im just saying that development efforts on anything map-related on the r98 is kind of a wast of time until we can save and restore maps since it keeps forgetting it.
