If you read the MSDS for Wolfe paints it states that there is an anti microbial in the paint. Also the FAQs on their website talks more in detail about the germ fighting agents in the paints. I am not sure about other brands though, if you get details on other brands would you share it with me? I would love to know as I use a misc collection of different brands of paint.

QUESTION:

I read in this email that the professional paints are "antibacterial"  Explain this please and is there some place to get this documentation on it for clients!  Also they did not address the brushes used on multiple faces?  How does that work for guidelines and sanitation?

Dear All,
I just wanted to address some of the recent issues! As far as the Sanitary Guidelines, the need for these came from the shipboard Security Guards that watched painters on recent cruises. We at Sixth Star are in the process of amending these based on your feedback. Yes, you will need to use a different sponge on each person but the sponge can than be placed in a bin and sanitized after the session in your cabin and reused at the next scheduled session. You do not need to throw away your sponges. Also, since the professional paints are anti bacterial< which the ships were unaware of> there is no need for taking the paint out of containers. Stay tuned on that one!
As far as the fee goes, the powers that be wanted to raise this over a year ago when all other fees for speakers were raised but I convinced them not to at that time. For example, we book 150-200 sailings a year with various cruise lines with Arts and Crafts Instructors. They pay as all other speakers 65.00 a day plus about 200-250.00 worth of supplies for their crafts for a weeks cruise. All speakers <and we book about 3000/yearly >pay 65.00 a day. I believe as an artist myself the 40.00 fee is still fair as I do not know of a hotel/ all meals and entertainment that can be had for 20.00/person per day. I did the best I could in support of you all to keep the cost lower! There has been some confusion in regards to the tips…they are about 8-10 dollars total per person per day.
I hope this clarifies some points. I do hope that many of you will have the opportunity to cruise in 2010 as I feel the program has benefited many as per the emails I have received. Let’s find solutions to comply with RCCL so that the program will continue in the future!
Cheers,
