Hi

One of our users tried to copy between repositories and got error:

“svn: Repository moved temporarily to 'https://[snip] please relocate”

We understand that such copying is disallowed, but please will someone explain what “Repository moved temporarily” means in this context?

Is it possible that some temporary files have been created somewhere?

Best regards

David

Are you going through a proxy server?
What happens if you execute the exact same command twice in a row?

We go through a proxy, and when I want to download the latest copy of Subclipse I issue the command:
"svn export --username guest http://subclipse.tigris.org/svn/subclipse/trunk/www/update_1.6.x"
...and I also get the same "svn: Repository moved temporarily..." response.

But, if I issue the exact same command again, it works fine. (And will continue to work until I reboot.)
My guess would be that the proxy is sending back a response that the Subversion client doesn't quite know how to handle correctly...

Hi Chris,

Yes we do go through a proxy, so maybe your explanation is correct.

I haven't tried running it twice in a row but, since it's an invalid command, I am not sure that that would make much difference.
