Hello Eric, and all the other artists who participated last year on
Block Island.

When professional artists
want to make art it is usually very good art. Last years' exhibition
went extreemly well I think. I really enjoyed
my trip to the island. I choose to drive my van over and I put my
sculpture up with no problems. The day was fabulously beautiful, and I
think this years event will be even more enjoyable. The organization
went very well too for a first time exhibition. I am truly looking
forward to participating again this year. Im thinking of
creating something kinetic and tall. The wind gusts can be extreem, so
whomever decides to
participate must think of structually sound and ready to withstand
high wind gusts. Block Island is such a special place to have a part
of you out there. I have told all the great artists I know about this
event and there are a few who are interested as well. "Eye of the
Storm" has been on my mind for a few months now.
I actually did a wood cut and print of an "EYE". T-shirt material I
think. Perhaps I will upload a picture of it.
Anyhow, The artists in this exhibition last year are top notch to say
the least, and I encourage any artist to submit their ideas.

Sincerely,
Karen J Wassmer, Artist Sculptress

Karen and all,

Looks like this year is going to be even better than last. We already
have a good number of sculptors who will be showing their work. And a
few well known sculptors have also expressed interest to me thru
emails. I Can't wait to see it. Also new this year, each sculptor will
need to sign a release form to protect our homeowner / host in the
event of any mishaps. New proposals please post a picture of your
sculpture / drawing of proposal in our "PAGES" section or email it to
me at e...@xxsculptures.com.

Thanks Eric

Hi Eric

I will be adding a 3' x 3' x 7'  piece.   utilizing the Eye of the storm Theme and will be bringing it with Karen Wassmer's when she goes.

It is a circular pole cage with an acetylene gong and an "eye "   wind flapper to make the gong work.

No pics  yet, but soon.

Sorry but a Gong and other noise making sculptures are just to
annoying to the landowner and his neighbors. Would you want a gong
banging outside your bedroom windows all night long, all spring and
summer?
