After upgrading I realize that the Feedback admin page doesn't have
checkboxes to do a mass delete/decline/spam for feedback items.
Akimset was not working before the upgrade (not sure if it is working
yet or not after the upgrade), but I'm looking at 150+ spam like
messages I'd like to purge... however clicking on each one is going to
be very tedious...

Is the functionality for doing this really gone? If so, is there a
easy TSQL script I can run to do this update on the DB for all these
comments to flag them as spam to be easily purged?

I think the UI has gone because now the flagging is done asynchronously via JS: so you don't need to click, wait reload, click again to flag something as spam: just click on the "pig" icon and the message will be marked as spam. (just one click per message, as you'd with the checkbox for the mass update).
Then go to the "marked as spam" page to purge the deleted items

IMHO that's a bit limiting of a UI when you have 100+ items that you
can see are spam... clicking on each one is a lot to ask of the user.
I just picked apart the database and deleted the records brute force.

Glad you found a way it worked for you: still I don't see where the difference is between clicking on a checkbox to toggle it and clicking on a "mark as spam" link that doesn't cause a page reload.

And mark all as spam never existed as an option if I'm not mistaken

Not sure you understood my statement. In v2.1.* you had checkboxes on
the feedback page where you could check all items on a page and at the
bottom click a SPAM or DELETE button to mass-mark items. Clicking a
link for each item without having a way to multiselect is very painful
for marking multiple items as spam.

For instance, after I cleaned my stuff up I went to my admin page
today and had 7 things to moderate, all of which were spam. I had to
click the spam link 7 times. In the old admin UI I could click a
checkbox in the header that selected all 7 and then click the spam
button.

So the new 2.5 UI is less user friendly than the 2.1 in this specific
instance.
