Mares Quad

Hello, 

I just bought a Mares Quad and would like to know if anyone tried it with SubSurface already. It's not listed at the supported computers list but I believe it's similar to others Mares computers.

My first guess is that it's an iconhd based device. Can you try to download a
memory dump? Select the Mares Icon HD as model, and enable both the "Save
libdivecomputer logfile" and "Save libdivecomputer dumpfile" option. Send me
back those two files.

Hello, I just got a Mares Quad 2 days ago, while I am on a dive trip. This computer is the successor for the Nemo Wide II.
I also have a Puck Pro, and its USB interface. Unfortunately, this USB interface is not mechanically compatible with the Quad. So, I dive with the two computers in order to save dives from the Puck Pro.
Today, I slightly hacked the serial connector (USB side) using my Letherman tool. Doing so, I got a contact between the pogo pins and the computer contact screws. I successfully dowloaded dive profiles using Mares Nemo Wide 2 settings.
Everything seems to be correct, temperatures, dpth, gas ( at least for one gas : I use only one (NITROX or air)

At the moment, I'm using the quad, importing as Wide 2, and editing the ssrf file (replacing "nemo wide 2" string with "Quad".

Tomorrow (desat !), I will use the Puck Pro as main computer, set 3 gases on the Quad, and fake-switch gases on the Quad. I will send the raw log files to you. Just let me know how to send these files.

If you have a recent version, then the Mares Quad should be listed.

I use Subsurface 4 6 4, and Mares Quad is not listed in the import combobox. It is also not listed in the supported computers list.

ok, I found your email in the mail I received from the newsgroup (I'm not used to newsgroups...)

I send to you a first zip archive with dives using only one gas.

I looks like I added the Mares Quad just after the Subsurface v4.6.4
release. But it's just the name that was added. As you already noticed,
downloading works fine when selecting a compatible model like the Nemo
Wide 2.

Hi Jeff,

I have a similar issue and posted a new topic "MARES Quad air connection issue with subsurface 4.7.8 OSx version", Have been in contact with Dirk and I did some tests with latest official release and with the issued beta test release of today.

I included the log files in that topic as well.

Hope you can find some time to take a look at them.

I am a great fan of Subsurface and hope to be able to continue using it now I have a new DC.

I also have the Mares Quad dive computer and the mares dive link, but I can't connect with subsurface (latest version 4.8.3). The release notes say that it should be possible.

But when i do scan for bluetooth devices nothings show up.

I can only connect with the MySSI app on android.

Hi Koen,

Do you tried with Subsurface Android App or desktop one?

Android App v 4.8.3.0 works well with my Mares Smart and Blue link pro interface.

If you have some problem with discovery process try to switch off Mobile e wlan network and keep on only bluetooth on, sometimes it happens me too.

I've also registered Dive computer as trusted device.
