Hi,

Recentely I changed my Suunto D4f for a Garmin Descent mk3.

I'm using tha latest Garmin Firmware (23.30) and Subsurface 6.0.5464 on Ubuntu.

I use the dive computer for free diving.

I can import FIT files, but Subsurface shows only one dive of 23 minutes duration instead of the 14 dives.

Here a couple of screenshots and the fit file attached.

Is there a way to got all the dives separately?

Thanks!

It looks like Garmin reports the entire freediving session as a dive, and not the individual dives. But you can manually split the dives inside a session into individual dives by right-clicking into the profile in between two dives, and then selecting 'Split dive into two':

Thanks for the quick response Michael.

I didn't know about this option. Thanks again.

Anyway, it's a bit slow and tedious. Isn't there a way to automate it?

Unfortunately it is a bit hard to discover. 🙄

Not in the current version of Subsurface. Feel free to contribute a pull request to implement this functionality.

Sure, but I don't have enough programming knowledge to develop it.

With a bit of luck, someone will read this conversation, find it interesting, and develop it

HI,
I think you can adjust the setting for the Garmin when it sees a dive as ended and starts a new dive. That interval is now perhaps too long?

End Dive Delay

Allows you to set the length of time before the device ends and saves a dive after surfacing.

But it could be that a freedive is not seen as a dive and this setting does not affect what you want. When i do a freedive of 23 minutes i want to see all the descents i did for the whole session, and not see them as separate dives... You can always start-and-end the apneu dive when you want, and start another one a minute later. Than you get different fit-files, and more dives in Subsurface.
