Hi, I'm new to this but I like Subsurface.  I've got a Suunto Vyper and have to upload dives into that; I can then get them into Subsurface fairly easily.  I'd like to be able to then upload dives to PADI's ScubaEarth (without a lot of retyping, which I'm already doing when bringing data into Subsurface).

ScubaEarth provides a bulk upload facility but it only supports a format called DL7.  That doesn't seem to be on the Subsurface Export list.  Does it go by another name - i.e. is that format already provided by Subsurface?  Any ideas as to how I could export data to ScubaEarth?

When posting questions you can help us answer you more quickly if you make sure you include some basic information:
  • Which version are you using (hint: look at the About screen)?
  • Which OS are you running?
  • (if applicable) which dive computer are you using?
Feel free to delete this text when posting your question.

Exporting DL7 is currently not supported. I have queried ScubaEarth if they are going to support other formats than DL7 as some comments on the Internet state so. I would rather put my effort to something else than implementing DL7 export as that format is designed for small size rather than interoperability (to put it nicely :D).

Thanks Miika.  I was hoping that someone had a workaround - other than using a different log, exporting from Subsurface to that and then exporting to DL7 - which I've done but it's a pain (and Dive Log seems to lose useful data as well as being nothing like as good).  I'll join a ScubaEarth forum and add weight to the requests - but, for now, my ScubaEarth log is probably not going to get updated.
