Jared:

The cloud options in Subsurface are grayed out on my Desktop, so choosing any of them won’t work.

I tried to log in using the link you listed, and whether in Chrome or Firefox, the log in won’t work using my email address and either my old or new passwords.

Any other suggestions?

Subject: Re: Error Opening Cloud (Desktop)

Ah, apologies for missing this -- I didn't get a notification for some reason. Thank you for the prompt reply.

Unfortunately the issue persists. I receive the error "Cannot sync with cloud server, working with offline copy" upon starting the program. Clicking "Save to Cloud Storage" produces no error. Clicking "Open Cloud Storage" also does not produce an error. Clicking "Cloud Storage Online", however, gives the error "Failure taking cloud storage online". I've posted logs from a recent instance (post-restart), where I clicked the aforementioned buttons.

I attempted another password reset. This time, when using a new auto-generated password, I was met with a message that I should only use letters and numbers, so I adjusted the password accordingly. However, updating the password in the app did not result in a change in behavior -- I receive the same errors as before.

As a note, when attempting to check that my files exist on the cloud server at cloud.subsurface-divelog.org/user/ by entering my email and password, the login dialog again just clears itself and the page does not update. This occurs for Chrome, Edge, and Internet Explorer (*shudder*).

Let me know if there is more detailed troubleshooting that I should try. Thank you again for your help.

Best,
Jared

Thanks for going through the steps and including the logs right away. That really helped figure out what's wrong.

I'm reasonably certain I found a small configuration error on one of the servers that ended up causing you the problems.

Would you mind trying again?

Thanks

Hello there! I recently downloaded Subsurface and really enjoy the app. I initially had it configured to save my dives locally as an xml, but realized I wanted cloud storage to sync the phone app with my desktop.

I have selected the option "Cloud storage default file" under preferences. I created an account as instructed, entered the PIN, etc. However, upon clicking "Open Cloud Storage" in the subsurface desktop app, I receive the error "Cannot sync with cloud server, working with offline copy." [Note: thank you for making error messages selectable. Major pet peeve of mine.] Log files are attached here.

As instructed on the subsurface main website, I changed my password and tried again, to no avail -- I still receive the same error.

I also read through this post and, as suggested, checked the cloud site directly (cloud.subsurface-divelog.org/user/). On the first few user/pass submission attempts, the window just cleared the user/pass fields and showed no response. Now, I receive a "Not Found" page when logging in.

I have also tried restarting my computer,  using a different network adapter, and reinstalling Subsurface.

I might just be missing something obvious. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time, and for producing such an awesome app!

Jared:

Here’s the error that finally shows up after numerous log in attempts:
