I have a Cressi Giotto and the computer interface sold by Cressi.  I understand that I cannot import directly to Divelog using this interface with a Mac. But I have successfully imported data into the Cressi software.  I'd like to bring this data into Divelog.

As far as I can tell, the Cressi software can only export to a txt file.  However it is not a file that Divelog can parse.  Any suggestions?  Should I send you one of the txt files?

Thanks

You are wrong. Downloading dives from the Cressi Giotto is supported!

JEFF: I hope you are right and I am wrong.  According to the FAQ, "Subsurface on the Mac does not currently support IRDA based dive computers" and as far as I know the Cressi interface is IRDA.  Am I wrong?  Have you been able to make it work on a Mac?

You are wrong. Not all communication using infrared light is IrDA! The only dive
computers using IrDA are the Uwatec Galileo/Smart range.

The Cressi Giotto has a simple usb-serial interface, which should work just fine
on Mac. After the usb-serial chip, the data may be transmitted as infrared
light, but that doesn't matter.

The universe works in weird ways.  I tried again this morning and it worked.  Not sure why, as I didn't do anything different.  The Cressi interface is a little wonky for sure and maybe it's a one time out of ten situation.  Anyway thanks for the help.  I'm glad to know how wrong I was!

One note for anyone with the same issues: be sure to plug  the Cressi USB interface into the computer BEFORE you boot up.  Otherwise the program doesn't see it.
