Status of automatic gps position sync on subsurface mobile?

Hi,

i've read the relevant threads and i'm fully aware _why_ the feature to sync dive spots with gps coordinates was removed... but it seems after that there was no change since 2021?

Or did i miss something?

Are there any plans to re-introduce this in some form? Maybe just as 'primitive' as importing and syncing from a textfile created by some other GPS logging app?

(If a decent one exists, i have no clue atm. Any recommendations?)

I really loved that feature and still miss it.

You CAN import coordinates that have been captured elsewhere (I use the GPSRecorder of MyGPSCoordinates apps on an iPhone) is not a dive log but the Subsurface-mobile app doesn’t capture GPS coordinates itself. Once the coordinates are in your dive log then you can sync this between devices by using Subsurface cloud storage kindly provided by Dirk.

I can import completed dive spots from an XML or ssrf, but there is nothing to just import coordinates and timestamps and sync those to existing dives / dive spots like the old function did.

Or did i just miss it completely? I've just looked at every option again in both the desktop app and subsurface mobile on android (v6.0.5365) and there is nothing.

I am not talking about the cloud sync, that works of course. I'm talking about adding GPS coordinates based on time (matching dive times and gps timestamps) to new dive spots.
