Hi everyone,

I use the latest Android version of Subsurface with my Scubapro G2 computer.

Since this version is available with Google Play Store, I noticed a slightly change in the behaviour of the app while downloading new dives from my G2 : it takes now much more time (several minutes) to download only one dive !

It looks like the app tries to download/retrieve all the dives stored on the G2 computer (thanks to the displayed status message), and then displays only the not already downloaded dives.

The previous versions (months ago) did not behave like this, as the downloading process was much faster...

Am I alone to feel the same about this strange (faulty ?) behaviour ?

Thanks for any tips.

Hi Philippe,

I see the same issue with the G2 since "lately" (a few weeks ago). I'm using the automatic builds for Android from Obtanium (which are devel/latest builds). So it seems to be a "fairly recent" change. I tried digging into related changes / reported issues on either Subsurface or libdivecomputer but didn't spot where it have been broken.

At first I didn't except the process to "ever" finish because I didn't have the option to "redownload everything" checked. But after seeing your messages I was more patient and can confirm the downloads finished fine after quite a while.

Can somebody point to a related change or roughly between which builds it broke?

Kind regards,
 Stefan

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for your message, I feel better now being not alone with this problem ! ;-)

In addition, I noticed that the “broken” thing appears also with the Windows version of Subsurface : error message each time “Failed to connect to XXXXXXX: 'Remote device cannot be found'”

I tried to scan again the Bluetooth devices around my pc, but Subsurface cannot find anymore my G2… L

Thanks for any help !
