User config/settings file on filesystem (location?)

Is there a user config/settings file that Subsurface reads upon initialization?

Is there something like that available, e.g. in $HOME/Library/Application Support/Subsurface/config.ini, or some xml?

I find those useful, interesting and convenient, coming from a linux background

Not directly, but we use Qt's  QSettings abstraction to handle persistence of our settings.
