I saw this question asked already, simply re-asking the same thing and spamming the mailing list won’t really be productive.

What might help is mentioning what platform you are on, Linux, Windows or macOS and what version of Subsurface you are on.

If you give me the exact steps you are following I can try and replicate this.

sorry for double posting.
I'm on Win, last version, just updated,
i simply add all my gases available and then add the depth points, when i double click on used gas, next to run time column the gas highlight but i don't get the drop down list only the downward arrow

Yes I see what you mean and I can replicate this.

If I enter 2 dive planner points, the initial descent (i chose to descend to 40m) and the duration at depth (I chose to stay there for 25mins) then the deco gas is correctly inserted for the generated ascent. But if you want to manually plan a multi-level dive with a second shallower depth of say 25m then this still assumes you are using the original gas mixture and like you say you are unable to change it with the drop-down list.

What you CAN do though is in the profile on the right you can right-click and manually choose to put in a gas-switch event for when you arrive at this new shallower depth.

Does that help?

Hi Jason.

I am struggling to replicate this - for me the drop down works in the dive plan that you are describing:

What am I doing differently to you?

Cheers

I have also noticed that the calculated gas consumption is a bit weird too, it seems to calculate the volume of free gas correctly but the calculation for turning this into cylinder pressure seems off as it's showing this as 1bar (but 1374l of gas in an AL80).

A few cylinder types seem to be affected.
AL40 = 1132.ll
AL50 = 1415.8l
AL63 = 1784.0l
AL72 = 2038.8l
AL80 = 2265.3l
AL100 = 2831.7l
LP85 = 2406.9l
LP95 = 2690.1l
LP108 = 3058.2l
LP121 = 3426.3l
HP65 = 1840.6l
HP80 = 2265.3l
HP100 = 2831.7l
HP117 = 3313.1l
HP119 = 3369.7l
HP130 = 3681.2l

Performing the gas-switch by right-clicking the profile (green) works for me just fine.

Using the drop-down (red) doesn't.

This is working for me as well - the drop down is a bit 'tacky', you have to double click into the cell for the drop down icon to appear, and then click again to get it to open:

I am currently working on this area, and I plan to have a look if this behaviour can be improved to make it easier to get the drop down.

Strange, i'm clicking it and i can see the down icon but no list appears. I'll test on some more devices, I'm currently on a Win11 laptop but will try Win10 and something else (macOS or Linux) too.

Windows 10 using 6.0.5144 seems to do the same thing for me. Switching to 6.0.5206 resolves it though on both Win10 and Win 11
