I know this is not about using Subsurface, but hope there are smart people here who could help.

Have SEAC Screen and use SEAsync to save dives.  Works OK even it is bare minimum.  I recently got an error on the log for one dive.  This can be seen on the dive watch.  I believe it happened after changing the battery.  It happened to last dive logged.

When I download the dives, it can only download the header information.  The details do not download.  This was dive 50 and up to that point all was well.

This is not desirable but at least my dives are logged and I can add critical notes.

I was hoping there is a way to clear the log of this dive, or, all dives and just start using it as if it was new, thinking this might correct problem in future.  I tried resetting the watch and this did not change the log error.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Hello David,

I had the same problems with a SEAC tablet. According to SEAC, the test device had a brief interruption in its power supply.
The data for the dive in question was only partially accessible, and the test routines therefore generated a checksum error.

This shouldn't really be a problem. However, at least in the case of the tablet, the firmware has a few bugs that prevent the data from being read. The only option was to make a complaint and send it in for replacement.

Andreas, thanks fo the reply.  I will keep trying to find a correction, but I suspect I will have to give up on getting dive detail (depth, temperature).  They are interesting to view but not required in my log, hopefully the other information will continue to download and unit keeps working.
thanks again, dave

David, are you trying to remove the log from Seac Sync software, or just from the dive computer itself?

SeacSync stores the dive log in a SQLite database. If you go to the settings tab of SeacSync, there is a button to go to the location of the database on your PC.
From there, you can use a database editor (such as DB-Browser or DBeaver ) to manually remove the dive from the 'headers_dive' and 'dive_data' tables.

I'd recommend making a back-up of the database before you manually try to edit it.

Have you tried downloading your dives with subsurface? I recently added some
workarounds to better deal with broken dives, so I'm very interested to know
whether downloading with subsurface works or not. If you try, please enable the
"Save libdivecomputer logfile" option and send me the log.

James, I know there is an error on one dive on the watch.  I don't know if the error was transferred to the database, only that the software stopped downloading the detail dive data from that dive forward.  I also know it continues to download the summary information completely.  I was thinking that if I could clear out all dive information from the watch, and upload a new version of seasync,  I could start over with my log and manually set total dive number, which I do now anyway.  I was thinking that would be easier than correcting something on one dive.
