I upgraded the Subsurface application. I then downloaded my Shearwater files from the cloud, went into Subsurface to import the files and the dive logs are not displayed. I've been doing this for a year and never had a problem. Had anyone experienced this problem and knows a remedy?

Following up to see if anyone knows a solution to importing Shearwater .db files into Subsurface. I seem to be having issues when I go into Subsurface and import the file, nothing imports.

If anyone has ideas, I haven't found anything online to correct the issue.

Thanks,
Thomas

hi

at first: why don't you just import the dives directly from your shearwater dive computer? subsurface should be able to handle most of the shearwater computers.

second: the shearwater desktop app should be able to export your dives in a fileformat subsurface can easy understand. go to "file" -> "export as UDDF (universal dive data format)". that should do the trick better than "*.db"

give it a try

Grey,

Thanks for the info! I'll start playing with the uploading directly from my Peregrine. FYI: The UDDF worked well!

Problem solved.

in my case my peregrine works best with subsurface mobile on my tablet (an andoid device). my desktop pc refuses to talk to my petegrine.
here is the way I go:

- import my peregrine data in subsuface mobile (tablet)
- synch my tablet with the subsurface cloud
-  synch my desktop pc with the subsurface cloud
- import my ostc data in subsurface desktop
- edit some things like notes a.s.o.
- save the dive local
- save the dives to the subsurface cloud
- synch my tablet with the subsurface cloud
- done

sounds crazy but takes just a few minutes an works great for me, 'cause I can import the peregrine data right at the dive spot - as long as I got my tablet with me - edit some things like used gases and tank pressure after the dive (so I can't forget it) and then complete the whole profile and log at home with dry hands and a cup of coffee 😉 and no need of a internet connection at the dive spot.
it just requires enough space on your table at home.
