I'm on 4.8.3 on Windows 10 Pro.

Just started using it on iphone with a Scubapro Aladin Matrix - brilliant!
Have all the recent dives logged and in the cloud.
Can import them to Windows version but when I quit the app and reload they're not there!
I've checked preferences and have a local file checked.
Tried "file, save" and "file, save as"
Clearly I'm being a gumby BUT how?

Hi Andrew,

From your description, I can come up with two different answers, depending on what you are ACTUALLY trying to do.
a) assuming all you want is to have Subsurface on your PC open with the cloud dive log by default (so just like on the phone). Open the preferences, select "Cloud storage default file". Done
b) you really want a local file with your dives. Technically you have this with (a) above because we do keep a local cache, but if you want a local .xml (or .ssrf) file, you can simply save to THAT with Export and then make THAT file the default file (as in (a)). But then that file won't be shared with the phone, so I think you actually want (a)

Thanks for your answer. I've looked in the subsurface directory and I have these files:
subsurfacelogs.ssrf,  andrew...@laxeypartners.com.ssrf and andy_home.xml. I've tried exporting or saving to all 3. No luck!

Any other top tips?

If so, my answer won't be instant as I'm about to leave this PC.

Thanks in advance.

Andy

Hi Andrew

You still haven't told us what you are actually trying to do:

Do you want to have the same files shared between the phone and the PC and have the PC open that file automatically at start?
Or are you trying to save a local XML file with all of your dive data?
Or something else?

Until I know what your intended outcome is, I don't know what else to tell you.

Well it's (really) great having my dives in the cloud - but when I first set subsurface up I imported all my old dives either from Suunto DM or divelogs.de and they seem to be saved on my local HD. The new dives done and bluetoothed to my phone only seem to exist in the cloud and I would like to keep a copy of them (with all the others) locally.

That's what I am after help with.

Thanks.

Andy

It seems, you ended up with two log books: One with your old dives on your local hard drive only in some .ssrf (or .xml) file, the other in the cloud. You need to import one into the other. I suggest you open the old file and save it to some location that you know (like your desktop), then open the cloud file (with your new dives), select "Import" from the menu and import those old dives. This should bring all your dives together. Now save to the cloud and in the preferences make sure, the cloud is your default storage location.
