Hi, I'm a new subsurface user. Running 6.0.5504-CICD-release on macOS Tahoe 26.3 and mobile with version 6.0.5504 on IOS 26.2.1

In both cases when I try to download logs from the Symbios, it's not working.

On the Mac I get a popup of  "Error Unable to open LE:{8d7dccd1-8ca2-cf3a-1122-07c70097a05b} Halcyon (Symbios Handset)" with a red banner at the bottom saying "Failed to find a suitable service..."

And on the IOS version it just shows Info: Import:Input/output error.

Unlike the Shearwaters, there isn't a Start Bluetooth option in the Symbios and the computer connects find to the Halcyon app, so I know the device is working. But I can't seem to figure out how to get it to connect to Subsurface.

Probably user error, but anything I should be trying differently?

Thanks,
Pat

I figured out the error when using my iPhone with the help of a user on scubaboard.  I needed to go in to the settings and advanced in subsurface, then I can turn on the bluetooth option to temporarily show all bluetooth devices.  When I do that I can finally see the Symbios Handset in the dropdown list starting with the serial number and I can choose it from there.  But I have to turn that setting on each time before I sync.

It seems the new Halcyon Symbios, at leas the blue one, it has Bluethoot code, so, you need to connect to your computer or phone using this code and later connect subsurface and it will works.

For example in Fedora
You can connect using BT code using those commands.
Terminal Pairing StepsOpen your terminal app.Type bluetoothctl and press Enter.Turn on the adapter power: type power on.Start searching for devices: type scan on.Locate your target device and copy its MAC address (e.g., XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX).Initiate the pairing sequence: type pair XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX.Type the PIN / security code on your keyboard or confirm it when Fedora or the terminal requests it.Finalize the connection: type connect XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX and trust XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX.
