Hi,

I use  Subsurface with pleasure and no problem since several years, but now cloud syncing seems to work only in one way between my phone and my Mac.
The difference, even if I don't think it is the reason, I am in Egypt ...

A) I download dives form my Shearwater Perdix AI to my iPhone 13 Pro Max running IOS 26.3 and Subsurface mobile v6.0.5504
Then I save with "Synchro manuelle avec le coud" (auto cloud sync is checked)"
After a while, I get the message :
"Completed manual sync with cloud (changements synchronisés localement)"

B) I open Subsurface v6.0.5504-CICD-Release on my macbook running MacOS Sequoia v15.7.3, several messages tells me :
- Synchroniser avec le stockage cloud
- Connecté au cloud, téléchargement des données distantes
- Synchronisation avec le stockage cloud effectué

But the dives added in point B) are not present !

C) I modify some text on an older dive on the Mac and save with "Enregistrer vers le cloud"
I open subsurface mobile and these modifications are present on my iPhone on this older dive

D) I delete these modifications on the phone and save, They are still present on the Mac

Of course between each steps, I close the phone app before opening the Mac one and vice versa.

Any idea ? Need something else to help me ?

Thank You.
Jean-Pierre

What an odd situation... if the phone gets the update to the older dive, as part of the way the storage backend works, it would have had to sync with the cloud server, which would have sent the new dives to the server

Before we dig further into this, can you look at the global drawer (hamburger button) and tell us what it says overlaid to the picture on top, below your email address?

Also, can you send me di...@subsurface-divelog.org an email FROM the account that you use to log into the cloud and give me explicit permission to access your cloud data? That way I can see what's happening on the backend.

Dirk,

I have a similar problem but I have a "workaround".

Mac mini with Sonoma 14.8.2 and Subsurface 6.0.5504-CICD-release
iPhone 14 with iOS 18.2 and Subsurface 6.0.5504

A) I transfer a dive from my Shearwater Perdix 2 to Subsurface on my iPhone the new dive shows and it says it has synced with the cloud
B) I start Subsurface on the Mac it says it is connecting to the cloud but the new dive is not there
C) I reopen Subsurface on my iPhone and use Dive management->Manual sync with cloud
D) repeat C) 2 to 4 times
E) On the Mac in Subsurface I use Open cloud storage and the dive is now there
F) Update location, etc. for the new dive and Save to cloud storage
G) Open Subsurface on the iPhone and the new dive has the updated settings from the Mac

So it appears there's an issue syncing from the iPhone to the cloud and manually syncing multiple times forces it through.

I have been doing the manual sync thing for a long time (at least a year) across multiple versions of Subsurface and it has just become part of my routine. When I saw this thread, I thought I'd try not doing the manual sync after my next dive and sure enough it doesn't send the new dive.

Andrew.

As requested I will send in a few minutes you an email from the account that I use to log into the cloud with the permission to access my data

Thank you for the help,

Was steht da?

So the phone is not synchronizing with the cloud. As I said in my response to your email with your permission to access your cloud data, I can't see any attempts from the iPhone to connect with the Cloud server.
Please try a manual sync (and based on other comments here in this thread, maybe try it multiple times).

If you still don't get the message that the data is synced with the cloud, please create a support request from within the app right after trying a manual sync. This should include log data that may shed some light on what's happening.

Hallo Herbert,

1.614: Open dive data file https://ssrf-cloud-eu.subsurface-divelog.org/git/<...> - git_local only is 0
git storage: unable to update remote with current local cache state, error: unexpected EOF

/D
