Mac 10.11.6 Will not open

I downloaded Subsurface-4.9.6.dmg and before opening I had checked "Allow apps dowloaded from Anywhere" on the system setting.

When I click on Subsurface, it open the "verifying Subsurface" 

Then alert saying Subsurface is an application dowloaded from the internet. Are you sure you want to open it?   => I click Open

And nothing happens.

And I can now keep clicking to open subsurface, but nothing at all happens. 

Any ideas?

macOS 10.11 isn't supported. You need at least 10.13 to run the official 4.9.6 binary.

Can I get a previous version of Subsurface? I had it until last night when tried to upgrade...

Yes, most of the older version are available on our download site.

I'll admit that I'm not 100% sure when 10.11 stopped being supported.

I'm almost certain that 4.9.4 is the last one, though.
