Running Windows 10 I just installed a IRDA dongle for connecting to the Uwatec Luna computer. It connects fine with Scubapro's software (SmartTrak), and even Windows recognizes the computer when I connect it, but I am not able to get Subsurface to connect. I tried reading the address from the device manager in windows and type this in at the "configure dive computer" without luck.

PS - I also have a Leonardo that connects just fine to Subsurface (although of course not IRDA).

Subsurface version is 4.5.6

Thanks.

We don't have many Windows developers - my (rough) understanding is that
Windows 10 no longer includes the IRDA protocol stack and that that is why
Subsurface doesn't recognize IRDA dive computers in Windows 10. Of course
the fact that Windows recognizes the computer when connected seems to
disagree with that statement. But without a developer interested in this
area, it's really hard for me to see how we'd be able to address this
problem.

I believe the IrDA stack has been restored in one of the latest Windows 10
updates. Otherwise SmartTrak wouldn't work either.

@Mobjunky: You need to use "Download from dive computer", and not "Configure
dive computer". For the Uwatec Galileo you simply select the correct model,
without a device or address (it will get autodetected).

If that doesn't work, enable the "Save libdivecomputer logfile" and "Save
libdivecomputer dumpfile" checkboxes and send me those files.

Thanks Jeff, I'll try that tomorrow.

You are right btw, the irda stack is supported from release 1607 or something like that, it wasn't before.
