In order to restore lost dives for someone I am trying to export selected dives (for which they were my buddy) from my instance of SubSurface and import the results into the buddy's data (recently imported from an old Suunto).

The export from my log of the buddy's dive was done via setting a substring in "Dive Statistics". This does not appear to affect the export as I get ALL my dives in the resulting ssrf files.

If we call the old Suunto data XX.ssrf and the export from my log YY.ssrf then I have "Open logbook"ed  XX.ssrf and then "Import log files"ed YY.ssrf.

The result is that SubSurface crashes.

I updated SubSurface today (02-Sep-25, subsurface-6.0.5404-CICD-release-installer.exe).

Both XX and YY  "Open logbook" successfully.

I have two issues:
1) The crash
2) The YY.ssrf file (exported from my own log) contains ALL my dives not just those of the buddy in question.

I am clearly doing something wrong - anyone have any ideas what?

I've just been playing with this and this seems to work ok for me. I could filter my dive list to find the dives I wanted to export and then export these to a .ssrf file, i could do this in a couple of batches if I wanted to filter in different ways. Then i open the five log i want to import them into and I can import from the log file. One of these imports was not showing at first but that's because my filter was still on so i removed the filter and i could see all the dives i expected. I'm doing this on Subsurface (just one capital S please) version 6.0.5299-CICD-release so a marginally older version than you but not really significantly older.

I think you are UK based like me so if i can help you do this in any way then let me know.
